Jane Iredale is the closest thing the makeup industry has to a goddess. She is currently the president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, the first makeup line that has been aimed at enhancing the health of skin, rather than negatively affecting it in any way.
Previous to her work in the aesthetic industry, Jane worked within TV, film and theatre. This meant that she worked closely with models and actresses and she was able to see for herself women whose careers were, and are, totally reliant on perfect complexions. This allowed her to see how skin disorders and sensitivities can result in a major loss of self-confidence and how heavy users of makeup can ruin their skin in the process.
This inspired her to develop a makeup line that could truly contribute to the lives of so many women who suffer with skin conditions, disorders and imperfections. By 1994 Jane had developed her first makeup line, which immediately garnered plaudits. She worked closely with plastic surgeons throughout the process and, once the product had been finalised, they had enough confidence in it to use it on skin that had just undergone laser resurfacing.

All of the products are based on micronized minerals, manufactured without any filters or binders such as talc or mineral oil.
